For three days, the Theater am Neumarkt will be the Mecca of animated film. With the onedotzero series, the Zurich Film Festival brings the most important and most innovative festival in the field of digital film to Zurich, presents new works as European premieres and supports local production with the series onedotzero_ch. This year with even more attractive prizes: The winner of the onedotzero_ch_award will also receive a video commission for the two local editions of the Red Bull Music Academy 2008 in western Switzerland and Zurich. Even in its days as a small independent film festival, the makers of onedotzero presented first works by Spike Jones, Michel Gondry and Chris Cunningham long before they became popular with a wider audience. onedotzero has also designed the stage shows for such big names as U2, George Michael and the Rolling Stones. From September 28 – 30, 2007 the Swiss pioneers of digital film will meet at the Theater am Neumarkt. onedotzero_ch facilitates exchange and offers young talent a platform to show their work to a broader audience. The young artists will present their newest ideas, their most inspiring clips and most creative video art, lead their viewers through the spheres of animated worlds, play with our perception of reality and experiment with image languages and narrative techniques. onedotzero_ch serves as a platform for exchange and as a steppingstone in the artist’s strive to reach an international audience.
