The Zurich Film Festival cordially invites you to its press conference on Thursday, September 13, 2007, at the Zunfthaus zur Saffran. The festival administration will present the competition programme, announce the names of this year’s jury members and give details of the numerous periphery events surrounding the 3rd Zurich Film Festival. The press conference will be attended by Nadja Schildknecht, Karl Spoerri, Antoine Monot jr., Nikolaj Nikitin, Shane Walter and Christine Dorn.
Nikolaj Nikitin: The Zurich Film Festival is pleased to have secured Nikolaj Nikitin, a first-rate authority in the field of Eastern European Film, as the designer of the series New World View (with Russia as the guest country). The Russian born Nikolaj Nikitin, founder, publisher and chief editor of the German film magazine Schnitt, and member of numerous organisations and bodies relating to Eastern European film, is a veritable mind of information when it comes to the contemporary Russian film scene.
Shane Walter: The onedotzero festival is currently regarded as the world’s most important and innovative festival in the field of computer-generated film, as a laboratory of visions and an ideas generator for the animation film genre. Director and co-founder Shane Walter has worked together with the crew of the Zurich Film Festival for several years now. With onedotzero_ch, the Zurich Film Festival will once again introduce the latest ideas, the most inspiring clips and the most creative video art made by local artists, and present the onedotzero_ch_award for the second time. Shane Walter supports the Zurich Film Festival’s initiative to incorporate the onedotzero philosophy into its own programme with onedotzero_ch, creating in cooperation thereby a platform for the local scene.
Christine Dorn: Christine Dorn, manager from 2002 until 2005 of the Berlinale Talent Campus has been the experienced director of the Zurich Master Class since 2006. The Zurich Master Class will take place within the framework of the Zurich Film Festival at the Theater am Neumarkt. This year will again offer young cineasts the opportunity to benefit from experiences, ideas and work ethics “on a par” with renowned film workers. The Zurich Film Festival is extremely pleased to have secured such celebrated personalities as Oliver Stone, Pavel Lungin, Jim Stark and Quirin Berg to speak at this year’s Master Class.
