„Filmmile“ along the Limmat – the Zurich Film Festival enters a third round

The Zurich Film Festival has been extended to 11 days, additional cinemas and locations have been attained for screenings and events surrounding the big picture. A unique filmmile flanks the Limmat and a large tent at the Rathausplatz will serve as a meeting point for both movie enthusiasts and filmmakers.

„Our programme focuses on touching stories told by interesting young filmmakers“ says festival director Karl Spoerri, „we are looking forward to taking the public on a cinematic expedition in presenting over 50 Swiss and World premieres of young directors – the film makers of tomorrow.“

The festival is very happy to cooperate with such strong main sponsors as Audi, Credit Suisse, jobs.ch and L'Oréal Paris this year. Also, the city of Zurich will support the Festival for the first time. (871 caracters incl. space caracters)  [more]

On a par with film greats – The Zurich Film Festival’s talent workshop

Building on the successfully implemented workshop talks of 2006 (with Stephen Frears, Christian Frei and Ueli Steiger et.al.), young film workers will again be offered the opportunity to participate “on a par” in the work ethics, experiences and ideas of renowned artists from the international film scene.

The Zurich Film Festival will organise the next Zurich Master Class (4 – 7 October 2007) at the Theater am Neumarkt in cooperation with Swiss television (SF).

In six workshop talks, each lasting four hours, 25 extremely promising, up-and-coming filmmakers will be given the opportunity to profit from the experience of international film professionals, receive new impulses for their own work and make interesting new contacts, which will be deepened and expanded at later meetings. [more]
