KARL SPOERRI
Karl Spoerri was born in Switzerland in 1973. Spoerri received a contract to work as an actor at the Schauspielhaus Zürich subsequent to attending the Zurich School of Theatre from 1992 until 1993. Alongside this engagement he also collaborated in the film TSCHÄSS and in the "Tatort" series, episode RÜCKFÄLLIG, under the direction of Daniel Helfer.
In 1997 Spoerri produced the film SAUSAGES in New York and was responsible for the development and production of the television pilot series SOAP X. In 1998 he founded the Spoundation AG. The Creative Artists Management, for the consultancy and promotion of actors and actresses, built upon by Spoerri and Antoine Monot, Jr. and the Bestzungsbüro, founded in Cologne in 2002, are also part of the Spoundation AG.
With the Spoundation AG Spoerri organised the digital film festival “onedotzero_adventures in moving image“ in cooperation with the School of Art and Design in 2004. Created by Spoerri, Schildknecht and Monot, Jr. and presided over by Spoerri, the Spoundation Motion Picture GmbH has organised the Zurich Film Festival since 2005. Karl Spoerri is manager of the Zurich Film Festival and Head of Programme.
