As Switzerland’s cultural and economic metropolis and base for numerous producers, distributors and filmmakers, Zurich offers a unique environment for a film festival. Over the course of eleven days, in the city with the world‘s highest concentration of cinemas, the Zurich Film Festival has presented film premieres from all over the world, offered cinematic treats to a national and international audience and facilitates direct on-the-spot exchange with the filmmakers. With numerous events and parties complementing the cinema program, the festival offered an ideal platform for making contacts and exchanging ideas. In 2008 the festival had more than 36'000 visitors and attracted guests such as Sylvester Stallone, Peter Fonda and others. The festival has expanded even further this year – with regard to audiences, industry and media coverage – and remains devoted to presenting only the highest standards of content to our audiences.
