International Competition

Once again, the Zurich Film Festival foscuses strongly on the discovery aand support of new talent. The core of Festival is the International Competition. Three "Golden Eye" awards will be conferred on the most convincing of the 24 participating films in the competition. Only Swiss premieres, German-speaking premieres and European, international or world premieres will be shown. Prizes: The "Golden Eye" awards will be conferred in following categories:

  • Best Fiction Feature Film (minimal running time 60 minutes, production years 2007/2008)
  • Best Documentary Feature Film (minimal running time 60 minutes, production years 2007/2008)
  • Best Debut Fiction Feature Film (minimal running time 60 minutes, production years 2007/2008)


The prize money for Best feature and documentary is CHF 20'000.- (ca. USD 20'000.-) . The prize money for Best Debut is CHF 10'000.- (ca. USD 10'000.-) and non-monetary benefits worth CHF 10'000.-. All winners wll receive an extra promotional money at a total value of CHF 150'000.- (ca. USD 150'000.-).
